Note from Teresa: My apologies for not sending this sooner; I received this notice from the Colorado GOP on Feb. 28. As you can see, some of the meetings have (and had) already passed. However, you may still be able to attend some or send an email.

Fellow Republicans,
The legislature will be redrawing congressional districts to equalize population, as they do every 10 years. The legislature has formed a joint House-Senate committee to take public testimony. It’s important that they hear from you. Please attend one of the hearings or, alternative, you can send an e-mail to CongRedist2011@State.co.us with your thoughts.
Joint Select Committee on Redistricting Announces Public Hearings Schedule
The Joint Select Committee on Redistricting today announced the schedule of public hearings that will take place across the state in the coming weeks. “This Saturday we are excited to begin our 10 public hearings to seek public input in a bipartisan and transparent process, as we work to draw a fair map for all of Colorado.” said Committee Co-Chair Rep. David Balmer, R-Centennial. In the redistricting process, the Colorado General Assembly is required to redraw the boundaries of Colorado's congressional districts based on the 2010 census data. To facilitate this task, the General Assembly has appointed a bipartisan 10-member committee. According to a letter outlining the Committee, the Committee will evaluate proposed maps for redistricting, solicit public feedback on the redistricting process, and make recommendations to the General Assembly on redistricting. “We are looking forward to hearing input from the public and making this process as inviting as possible,” said Committee member Rep. B.J. Nikkel, R-Loveland. The Committee will hold at least one meeting in each of Colorado’s seven congressional districts. According to a previously distributed announcement of the meetings, individuals who are unable to attend any of the public hearings may submit written testimony to the committee until March 25. Testimony may be submitted via e-mail to: CongRedist2011@state.co.us or via mail to Redistricting Staff, Room 029, State Capitol, 200 E. Colfax, Denver, CO 80203.
