Greetings, Otero County Republicans,

As you may have recently learned, State Representative Clarice Navarro-Ratzlaff has resigned her position as HD47 Representative to accept an exciting new position with the Trump Administration.  Representative Navarro has been a fierce and effective advocate for our Republican values, and we thank her for her service representing us and wish her the best with this new opportunity.

Her statement from her Facebook page follows:

"I will officially resign November 12th from the Colorado State Legislature. It was a very difficult decision, and I wish I could call each and every one of you to personally thank you for allowing me to serve as your Representative. It has been an honor and a pleasure. Not always easy, but what is in this life? The people of Fremont, Otero and Pueblo Counties are amazing, and I’m counting on them to fill my seat with someone who will serve boldly.

I leave with mixed emotions, but I’m confident I’ll be able to continue my fight for agriculture and rural America in my next endeavor. I have been appointed to serve in the Trump Administration as the Colorado Farm Service Agency Executive State Director.

THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART for allowing me this incredible journey. We must all continue our fight for a government that is smaller that works for the people. I have loved working for you, and while I’m embarking on a new adventure, I’m proud to say I’ll still be working hard for the good people of Colorado in my new position."

State House District 47 will be holding a special meeting of its Vacancy Committee on Monday, November 27th, commencing at 7:00 PM at the Blackburn-Dennis Community Center, 208 6th Street, Fowler, to accept nominations and elect a replacement for Representative Navarro-Ratzlaff.

The public is invited to attend, but only Vacancy Committee members will be allowed to vote.  Potentially interested candidates should contact Otero County Chair Devin Camacho at 719-469-7924.
